Hello

Are there any dangers between freediving and flying an airplane afterwards or vice versa? I have read that this can be a problem with scubadiving, but does this apply to freediving also?

Thanks!
RoY

i don-t think there is a problem
freediving after flight is no problem, since scuba after flight is allowed
flight after freediving also don-t think there pose any trouble....

Freediving right after the flight is indeed not a big deal, except perhaps possible dehydration from the airplane. In the other way you need to be more careful, so I would avoid any deep dives, or long series of repetitive dives before your departure. Be sure to enter the term DCS here on DB in the search function - there are several interesting discussions addressing this topic, and they are definitely worth of reading.

Thanks for the quick replys!

My plan is to do several dives to a maximum of 25 meters or so the day before my flight back home. I tried searching the forums, but didnt know excactly what to search for.... thanks trux for the info!

I would look up DVT too.

Dehydration and a long flight leaves you in a less than perfect state.

My flight only takes 1 hour and I will be diving the next day, so I dont think that dehydration will be a problem, but thanks!
