Freediving and Spearfishing in Yorkshire?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

hi guys im up near flamborough for the summer and was wondering if any of you are going to be diveing any time soon? i've done my AIDA** and have my own kayak. i am primarily a spearo but i love freediving just the same.

Hi, sorry to jump in. I am a freediver, am based in yorkshire and wanted to learn to spearfish - anyone got some time to show me which way to point the pointy thing?

I am pretty happy in the water, go up to farnes to swim with the seals a bit for example, really just wanted to tag along with someone that alreay spears is all

ebay is really good for cheap stuff i got my first wetsuit off there for £20 (just a surfing suit and i bought a hood seperate) and im a huge fan of d.i.y for instants im using a bicycle inner tube for a weight belt (saves £10-£20), also http://scubastore.com/ http://www.spearfishingstore.co.uk. there are some good kit lists on this forum as well.

you wont need to buy a spear gun for that just yet as its good practice to do one gun between two one up one down (so you dont get mistaken for a bass hahaha)
 
Oh, I see. No I have all the standard freediving gear, wetsuit, weights, etc etc, what I lack are the bits for spearfishing itself
