I've been looking for freediving apps and not having much luck.

Anyone know of any good apps?

I'd hate to buy a watch just for diving if an application already exists for my Apple Watch.

Thanks

You're lucky, it is not meant to :)
Look at note 1 here: https://support.apple.com/kb/sp766?locale=en_GB
As a general rule 50m indication on watches means that you can swim, but can not dive in it. 100m means you can skin-dive, 200m - dive with scuba. That is strange, I agree :)

Neverheless they do not have sensor that can read pressures as high as you experience being underwater. It has barometric pressure sensor. pressure even 3m deep under water is out of it's range. So you won't get depth reading from it.

Everything classed less than 200m is for swimming. I had a 150m watch that fogged after pooltraining...
Got the cash, keep on diving but youre just lucky.
Garmin Desent MK1 is an option but will cost you 1000 bucks and is judged by forums just as it says: a "Mark 1 model"...
Cant wait until Suunto wakes up and discovers the "smart watch era." To get all your info from heartrate, running to diving in a nice app would be great for me.

I'm also on the hunt for a Waterman sport tracker... freedive (spearfish), open water swim in salt water, kayaking, also lots of hiking on islands from kayak... looking at these devices, I am stunned to see prices up to $1,300 US... ouch! I would be willing to spring for up to $300 for a watch that could track all the activities I just listed, plus heart monitor & GPS. Does such a beast exist???

It seems Apple iWatch would be best bet, lot's of apps available, not sure of the iWatch 4 for diving.
