PFI Freediver Course Overview
This extensive 2-day weekend clinic teaches fundamental Freediving techniques for comfortable enjoyment in the aquatic world to depths to 20m / 66ft. You will also practice basic level Static Apnea (timed breath hold) and Dynamic Apnea (diving for distance in a pool) to help develop your breath-holding abilities and in-water comfort.
The PFI Freediver course covers the following:
- Safety and buddy procedures - proper weighting, safety procedures, hypoxic problem management.
- Equipment recommendations for freediving - "better ingredients, better...", you get the picture!
- Proper breathing for freediving - dive deeper and maximize bottom time.
- Techniques for freediving - entry techniques, efficient kicking, and proper streamlining.
- Confined water & open water skills development.
- Post-course drills and exercises for dry-based and pool training.
