There is a freediving community on reddit.com at Freediving; one-breath diving in the deep blue sea (or pool. or lake.) with a few hundred subscribers. Myself and another guy who I believe is on Deeper Blue are moderators of this small community and we have been invited to take part in an Advanced Fitness question thread. This should be happening either this Sunday or a following Sunday throughout the day.

So far they have done cycling, rowing, bodyweight fitness, parkour, climbing and brazillian jiu jitsu. You can see them here and find out what happens: AdvancedFitness: search results

I thought it would be great to invite some of you over at the freediving subreddit and also to see if any of you want to get involved with the freediving thread.

If you are wondering what will happen in said thread, the advanced fitness community (has 13,500 members) who are made up of athletes, old and young, coaches, professionals and those interested in the science of fitness, will be asking questions based on apnea and freediving and how it may help their particular sport and so on. If we have questions for some of them, then the thread can also be used for that too.

If you have any ideas for this or input, I'd love to hear!

I will edit this post when a date is confirmed for the thread as I'm still organising it with their moderators.

Sounds interesting, please update the thread once a date is determined. I haven't trained muay thai seriously in over a year but I remember many of the pro MMA guys I knew were starting to add hypercapnic training and forced respiration (they wore these gas mask looking things during conditioning)...

Looks like the thread will be starting around 11am GMT this Sunday. We'll make sure to add the official link here once it is up so that it'll be easier to find. Timing isn't so important. Just feel free to pop in at any point and see if there is anything that can be added. DB has such an extensive knowledge base that we felt it would be much better to get some of the great minds from here over there :)
