The SSI instructor course will be held in Koh Tao from 4-9 th of January.
If you are certified as SSI Level 3 Freediver or you are an advanced freediver or freediving instructor certified by another organization,(AIDA or Apnea Academy) this is the FITC for you! This six day FITC aims to certify you as a SSI Level 2 Freediving Instructor. After this course you will be able to teach SSI Level 1 and Level 2 freediving courses. The SSI Total Teaching System forms an integral part of this course. We will also provide all the knowledge and skills necessary for you to effectively teach freediving. In addition you will be assessed on your own freediving skills and techniques. You need to be a comfortable 40m freediver before enrolling in the course.
To book your place for the instructor course you have to send the confirmation to admin@ssidiving.com with a copy to blueimmersion@gmail.com. After your confirmation SSI will send you details how you can do the prepayment for the course. All the payment should be done before the end of December. Please note that quantity of people for the course is limited.
Requirements for FITC Level2
• All applicants must have their own Freediving equipment
• Applicants will have to pass a professional evaluation
• Applicants must achieve a 90% pass rate in the Level 1 and 2 STUDENT Final Exam
• Applicants must achieve a 90% pass rate in the Level 1 and 2 INSTRUCTOR Final Exam
• Applicant will have to pass 2 x Academic and 2 x In-water exams
• Applicant must achieve a 100% In Water pass rate
• All requirements with fins, must be performed with Bi-Fins
• Perform a 800m swim using mask, snorkel and fins/ 15min
• Perform a 400m swim (No equipment) /10min (any stroke)
• Freedive to minimum 40m depth competently / on demand
• Ascend from 20m using arms only
• Ascend from 20m with no mask
• Freedive 30m with a minimum dive time of 1:30min
• Freedive to 15m hang 30sec-1 min and do blackout rescue
• Perform 5 dives to 20m with 1min surface interval between
• Shallow Water Blackout rescue from 25m with 50m tow
• Perform pool disciplines Dynamic (DYN) - minimum 100m
• Perform pool disciplines DNF (Arms only) - minimum 25m
• Perform a Static breath-hold minimum of 4:00mins
• Demonstrate Blackout /Loss of Motor Control rescue in pool
• Demonstrate proper rope/buoy rigging for open water
