Awesome video! I've seen dogs go underwater before to chase a rock or something but not for this long.

That dog is the best thing i've seen in ages! Brilliant! rofl

Cool video! They say dogs look like their owners... maybe they pick up their owner's habits! rofl

It's surprising how many animals will hold their breath. My pet finches love their bath, and they will put their faces in the water. (And splash everything within 1m of their bath!) I have seen many 0:01 statics. Not bad, considering that they have a resting heart rate of between 800 and 1000.

I watched a doco the other night where they were trying to relocate a pair of tigers to the South African bush land. The only prob was that the tigers didn't know how to fend for themselves. So two "cat trainers" tried to teach them the finer points of hunting.

One of the lessons was on scavenging. So what they did was throw a carcus off a cliff into a river, then they let the tigers off the leads... but by the time the tigers had got to where the carcus was, it had sunk. After searching from the bank for a bit one of them got into the water and started swimming. The next thing it did was start diving for the carcus... something never seen before. When i say diving it was fully submerged for maybe 15-20 secs.

The animal world will never cease to amaze.:)

That dog is cool!!! My parent's springer spaniel will take a look around underwater for a while if his ball sinks.... but nothing like as long as that

How do dogs equalise????

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe he doesn't and the pressure just builds up a little. Or maybe he's like some (very lucky) freedivers who equalize hands free without even thinking about it.

I am hoping to get myself a dog soon.I am intending on taking it with me spearfishing so it can act as an underwater gun dogrofl
