Hello everybody,
Just wanted to ask if you recommended buying freediving gear straight in Dahab or in your home country before going to Dahab.
I need an upgrade and was curious to know quality/price of gear down there.
Thank you so much for your help!

Hopefully This isn't too late for you..

Don't buy gear in Dahab. The selection is quite limited, and prices are relatively high due to import taxes.

Thank you so muchfor your reply! Luckily I'm still in Oz and will buy everything here.
Can i ask you a silly question?
How do you transport your fins when you travel? They obviously won't fit in the luggage. Lastly , what wetsuit will I need there? 3mm?
Thank you so much for your help, I'm pretty new to this and have no clue!

I just use a large hiking pack, and/or a diving bag made by Cressi, both are long enough to fit long fins (I took 3 pairs) in. The fins, if they are carbon or fiberglass, are put in a sheath made of 5-7mm corrugated plastic and some tape (nothing too fancy) and packed between lots of clothes and wetsuit as padding. If you can't get a bag big enough some airlines, I would call and ask first, will let you take them carry on and leave them at the front with the stewardess' luggage.

The water is currently 23 and will go up to 27 until. Im Canadian and always wear a 3mm if its warmer than 18 so it depends on your tolerance to the cold. For most people a 3mm is fine though, unless you are really sensitive to getting cold.

That is great, thank you so much for yiur help ; I'll look into bags and corrugated plastic as I'm planning to get carbon fins.
Again, thank you so much for your help!
