Hi all,

Here it is, what it's actually been all about after all those years doing what seemed like weird s**t. There was an underlying logic to what may have seemed like madness. You'll have to forgive me for flying off-the-grid and in stealth for so long.

Hibernaut: The Human Hibernation X-Periment | Indiegogo

Best thing you can to help with this profoundly important project, which by the way goes well beyond freediving, besides pledging of course, is to share with your networks, by sticking it on your facebook wall, tweeting it, blogging about it, in short whatever it takes.

PS: And yes, to all the `static-heads,´ in case you're wondering, it will allow you to hold your breath, like for a really long time, and turn you from ordinary to extraordinary.

Good luck with your project Sebastien! I'll keep my fingers crossed. The results of your experiment are incredible, especially as it seems that you do not need any type of drug or equipment to do that. I'm a physiologist too and I think it's high time for a breakthrough discovery in human physiology. It would be the first one since a looooong time.

Hi,

Though from a purely scientific interest it's a big, 200-year-elusive, breakthrough, what I find really nice about it all is that even in this day and age there still exists the potential to make these most basic discoveries and, moreover, these can be employed to potentially launch ourselves into the far distant future or even help solve major global problems.

NASA anticipates and prepares for human hibernation

Ironically, if I had not freedived I wouldn't have been able to connect-the-dots and work it out. Actually, had I not been offered to go for a dive many years ago, by someone I met purely by accident, none of this would have happened. Funny, how things sometimes really come down to the wire.

I think it's going to be very exciting times head, irrespective of whether the campaign manages to get any inertia, and I can't wait to prey open Pandora's box of marvels (hopefully there's something in the box!). However, I do get that in the end, to move things and make a difference, comes down to who you know, not what you know. Indeed, I've been in the wilderness looking at critters, I've only just started working out how to use this thing called, `social media!´ So, if there are any really savvy social media types out there who care to join this team and add some really critical-mass, feel free to bounce me an email.

To all you Poles:

Much of the groundwork was done by climbing on the shoulders of giants, one of which is actually a Pole, Prof. Michal Caputa, from Nicolaus Copernicus university .... bet you didn't know that!

Seb, it's a mountain of information on the indigogo website, but you really need a better video to build and inspire your audience. Maybe voice that personal hybernation experience you had together with matching video images, displaying your temperature and vital signs? Adding some doctors considering the prospects and possibilities. And a WR static would instantly add credit to your claims. May the support heat up and get very active. :)

Hi,

Yes it is. That's because it's a big thing, but also because I wanted to be all there because I simply don't have the resources to answer individual questions relating to this or that. But if there was a way to water-it down, I'm all ears.

We're working on inserting a short video into the pitch.

Hibernation came knocking at the door one day, suddenly, out of nowhere. A voice at the door answered. "Who goes there?" Hibernation introduced itself. The voice replied, "Go away, we're waiting for hibernation." So hibernation went away and back to sleep for another 200 years, and opportunity, unnoticed, came and went.
