I went diving today, after a steaming hot day in Brussels (temperatures in excess of 30°C) with EcchiK.

It started raining really heavy when we got in, and it was great fun. Breathing up on my back with the rain on my face was pretty special. We did quite a few dives at various depths and got rewarded with a rainbow that spanned from one side of the lake to the other.

If there's anyone else in Brussels/Antwerp area interested in joining us, please let me or Kamil (EcchiK) know!

I spearfished in Russian rivers quite a few times when it rained and even when there was thunder and lightings. There is nothing more strangely beautiful y\than resurfacing to see surface of a water current bombarded by heavy rain drops

Totally agree! It was a great day!

The feeling of the rain on your back and the sound of it on the surface before a dive tends to be pretty relaxing. Then you go under and it all disappears...

I would do it again in an instant.

My only question is if there's any danger in being in the water during a thunder storm.

I bet it is when you have one of them fancy carbon snorkels as the highest object in the lake!

Don't worry! The lightning will always hit the H&L fisher with that 2.5 meter carbon core rod! rofl:blackeye
