I'm not quite sure where I should be posting this so I'm posting it in equipment as I believe it's a very important piece of equipment that every diver needs to have.

Now...I'm looking to buy freediving insurance in Europe. I live in Belgium and I'm (potentially) aware of two sources:

1) DAN Insurance: a bit pricey in europe but seems very reliable.

2) AXA insurance through the French association FFESSM. (not sure if it covers freediving)

Does anyone know if insurance through FFESSM covers freediving or if there are other options I'm not aware of in europe that are a bit cheaper than DAN? :blackeye

P.S. I'm pretty much an english speaker only. I can speak Polish but not on a professional level.

Cool! I definately assumed that, the thing that had me doubting it was that the guy at the local freediving club in Brussels was telling me to get DAN. Which to be honest is a bit pricey for me.

I can get the same insurance cover for a third the price with AXA.

DAN is worth every penny.... even if it is a bit costly, when you need it you'll be very glad you took it out with them!

It's true that although I use the Axa FFESSM insurance since 5 years, I never needed them, and do not know anyone personally who did, so cannot comment on their services. And I believe Sam speaks about her personal experience (was it the DCS accident?), not because of any interest. Or go the secure way and take both of them :)

So then, next question. Considering that I'm watching my budget but at the same time don't want to be stuck with a big bill if something does happen, which level of DAN insurance is reasonable for freediving only activities?
