Hey Yall! I know a few of you have been to some pretty cool places to go freediving/spearfishing. I'm wondering if any of you can suggest any place for me goto in October (I have 15 days off). If I'm going to do a trip like this - it's going to be this year. I would prefer not to be eat'n by a shark either- bit, but not eat'n. :martial Remember- I'm still a beginner diver, but am getting better every week:crutch . I would appriciate any suggestions or ideas - I want to start planning now and get an idea of what I "might" be doing.

Thanks,

----Scott

Scott,
California is nice in October. The winter swells are usually not here yet and the water has cooled to allow the algae to disburse and visibility to improve. It is also open season on every fish I can think of as well as lobster and abalone. Being from Wisconsin the 55 degree water shouldn't bother you and if you go to southern cal it will be ten degrees warmer with almost no waves, but not necessarily better imo. There's lot's of shore dives as well as boat options. You'd love diving in the kelp beds, it's like flying through a forest shooting fish. Good luck!

Kale- Thanks for the info- I had thought about going out to Cali. I have a friend who lives in San Fran (don't ask me why). I would like to check out those Kelp Beds and shoot a Sea Bass! That would Rock!
