Hi all,
I'm looking for a bit of advice and am new to freediving and the forum!
Specifically i'm looking to do an AIDA (or equivalent qualification) course and hopefully achieve level one and two in the same go. I've found places in the UK where I can do this but would much rather go abroad, somewhere in the Mediterranean ideally. I've looked quite extensively online but have not had much luck and search results are mostly in foreign languages. I've emailed many scuba companies in Sardina without success.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would be grateful for responses. If nothing comes through i will be off to Cornwall!!!
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm in the same position as you, beginner and live in the UK. I saw a website yesterday, but can't for the life of me find it again, however, they offered AIDA live aboard holidays in the Mediterranean. I have also seen many Greek and Canarie isles centres offering AIDA courses! Here's one in Tenerife http://www.apneacanarias.com/en/home I did some Scuba out there in January and it was pretty awesome, and, it's about the same price as visiting anywhere in the Med! Out of interest, are the guys in Cornwall the same bunch who run the salt free club at the lake in Chepstow?

Ok, thanks very much Danny. I will check it out. I've been sending a few emails out this evening to see what I get back. Found a few peoples contacts on the AIDA international website. Here's the link to the guys in Cornwall, I'd like to do the Gozo trip but might be off to Octoberfest about that time! http://www.freediveuk.com/freediving-holidays/

Hi Dave and Danny,

I would recommend Cyprus as well. I have already done the 2nd star scuba diving CMAS and now i am doing 1st star freediving and the instructors/teachers are awesome. The good down here is that you can do freediving all around the year. If you want any details about the freediving schools i will ask and tell you so.

Thanks very much for the advice. I'm looking at heading to Tenerife over the winter period 14/15 now. I don't know about the Cornwall guys, I just found them online.
