Don't know if this fits equipment forum, but there's nothing better:) This year I'm getting a motorbike and I'm thinking of merging two hobbies into one - ride to some flodded quarry or lake, dive, ride back home.

How would you transport long freediving fins on a motorbike?

Easiest way is put panniers on and lie the fins across and strap them down. I took all my diving gear nearly 300 miles like that and it was fine.

+1 to this. My scuba fins won't fit in my panniers but my bag fits great on the pillion with the sides dangling over them. I suppose it helps that I ride with very large metal panniers...about 1.1 metres (approx. 40") overall width.

I've done many trips with stuff strapped across my pillion...including a 250-mile round-trip with a 17' Folbot.

(First post...if that's in bad form let me know and I'll edit the post)

long blade fins fit nicely into the backpack and sticking out right about level with top of my head. This is how I was transporting them on my rental scooter for about three weeks during my vacation on Koh Chang.
