Here is a little note to the asshole that infected a certain freediving website with a virus. Thanks alot you f#$%ing dick. You just made a mess of things for me. I know you are probably lurking on here somewhere playing with yourself or who knows what you morons do besides make hardships for people. I'm not very computer savvy, so this is a big deal for me. Thanks again, scumbag.
(can you tell that I am a little pissed off?):vangry

Tony,

Perhaps you could tell us the URL, so that others can avoid it. Or perhaps the owner is not aware of it (the virus may have attacked his server without his knowledge). Or perhaps you caught it somewhere else - it is rarely possible to tell easily where you really got one, if it happened. Sometimes viruses do not even come from the website you visit, but from diverse advertising banner, over which the owner has usually very little control, because they are being delivered by the ads provider. Simply told, there is a very high chance the guy who owns the site does not know anything about it.

Ayway, I think that calling the site owner a scumbag is little bit too excessive, and perhaps verifying the issue with him or with his host provider would be more constructive.

If you give us the URL, I can check the website safely, without taking a risk, and can confirm or deny the risk for others.

I didn't call the site owner a scumbag, rather the person who infected it. I have contacted the website builder along with the site owner. The website builder is aware of the problem already and it should be resolved.

Oh sorry, Tony, I misunderstood the initial post - reading too fast

Scumbags and F%*)/&G Dicks, here on Deeper Blue!!!!
I’ve never heard the like, show me to um as the banning from the forum button awaits!:blackeye:martial:crutch

Hope you get sorted out Tony, but it might be useful to let truz have a scan of the site as he’s a bit of a whiz when it comes to this sort of thing.

It would be useful if you told us which website and, ideally, the URL (path displayed in the long browser edit box). Some browsers allow you to report dodgy "Phishing" URLs through a menu option - IE7 had this feature on the Tools-menu but it's missing from IE8.

Trux raises an interesting point. Many websites now display adverts automatically from various sources as a way to generate revenue. Some of the ads are dodgy, for example, most of the anti-spyware/PC clean-up type product ads. strike me as high risk. Having them appear on a legitmate trusted website can lead to a false sense of security. I've noticed such ads on trusted download websites and served up by Google on trustworthy third party websites :(. Execute virus writers?

This is what I get when trying to view Stepaneks website. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, Martin's site got hit. I've been trying my best to sort it out. The FII site took a hit too. I thought I had it cleaned up once, but it came back. Martin's web guy has been looking at it as well. I've been checking it throughout the day, I have not seen any sign of it coming back.

Tony, I'm sorry you got hit man, I feel bad. I don't know how this happened, I'm still baffled. My apologies to everyone for the inconvenience.

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?
Over the past 90 days, martinstepanek.com did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?
No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.

How did this happen?
In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

The last line is what happened to Martin's site. Somehow lines of code were added to hit another server. Those line of code were removed. But how they got there, I don't know.
