Can anyone recommend a place to buy cheap weights to go on a belt, the only ones i can find are £14 for a 2kg. or are there any alternatives of things that can be used?
Thanks

Have you tried Ebay? Back in May I bought 4 x 1kg weights for £12 - plus £4 postage. At the time there were several sellers offering 1kg, 1.5kg, 2kg weights, all around £3-£4 per kg before postage.

Ian.

I am just finished making my own weights. maybe an option for you? If there are a few of you (as there is in my case) it could work out cheaper to get a mold and scrap lead and do a day of DIY.

Hi:
I make and sell moulds for casting your own weights. I have a few that were especially designed for the freediver. They are #21, #22, #26 and #27 in the attached photo. The other photo gives you a better idea of the shape of #26. You just have to make 5 or 6 weights and you will pay for the mould provided you get the lead free as I do. Old wheel balance weights are great and you can usually get that stuff for nothing. Write to me if you are interested. My E-Mail is on the photo.

I have these hydrofoil shaped freediver weights from Ipojibwa and they are AWESOME!

Not only are they hydrodynamic and look great, but they also hug the body and don't catch on any line or cables / rope that might be in the water.

My biggest complaint with these weights is that because I love them so much and trust them not to tangle me up, that instead of renting / borrowing locally, I feel inclined to bring them with me when I travel and it eats up 10 lbs of my airline weight allowance! :D

The man is an artisan and has spent more time simply considering freediving and scuba weight moulds than any of us will spend actually wearing a weight belt!

Leo knows lead and lead moulds. When you buy a set of moulds, you also get an in-depth how-to guide for pouring with all of the safety precautions and equipment outlined, so that you can do it safely.

I dipped mine in rubber / plasti-dip and love them.

I've gone on kijiji for cheap scuba lead... But don't dare wear those bricks on my waist when I freedive... I use those as my bottom-weight for the line attached to my float when line-diving. Kettle balls also work thst you can get at any fitness store :D

Very satisfied customer!
