Headed out of Long Key with a few of the youngsters to shoot some fish this past Friday. Conditions were excellent wind under 5, seas lazy 1's, comfy in a 3mil w/o the hood, viz was top to bottom, but somewhat milky in some areas, excellent nonetheless for Long Key. Shot fish from 20-40+ ft. The climax was a 7plus pound grover a tad over 24" a personal best. I dropped on a ledge a grouper I was stalking bolted out of. When I arrived I saw him playing peek-a-boo on the otherside through a volleyball size hole. I shot the shaft clear threw the hole and stoned him clear on the otherside, went back up did a good breathup and went back to fetch him minutes before a 7'ish Hammerhead came over to investigate:naughty.

Days Tally
1 African Pompano
1 Yellow Jack
1 Red
1 Mac
2 Muts
4 Grovers
4 Hogs
and 1 30" black that disappeared off the stringer:head
3 bugs
