Well I couldn't let this day pass without a nod to our old friends who left us on this day 3 years ago. The world was a better place with them in it but all that remains now are the memories of 2 people that brightened the day everybody who met them including many a member on deeperblue.

Miss you both

I truly belive they are "just" somewhere else, only not here. On a long vacation somewhere. Eventually you'll bump into them again. Meanwhile their memory brings love to your heart.

Still a warm memory. May they rest in peace. We have a phrase in my native language about people who passed away. We say they're gone to live a better life. Hopefully so.

Indeed, it seems like it was just yesterday that we observed their passing. Rest in peace, friends.

Yes, remembering them both with some very find memories..... Alison tapping impatiently on her keyboard waiting to see pics of my wedding is a memory that always makes me smile.....

was it three years ago? that has passed so quickly.... the one and only time I actually spoke to island sands on the phone!

still remembering and thinking of those of you who knew them better and must be feeling sad today

Alison sent me a song shortly before (sea lion woman!), I'll have a listen to it today.

As I’ve said over the last few years, I didn’t have the pleasure but I bet we’d have got on real well and I feel for you guys that knew them well.
RIP

Unfortunately before my time too , just reading the heartfelt tributes brought tears to my eyes . X is right , tomorrow is promised to no one , if you love somebody tell them today. I'm going to read some of their posts to know them at least a little bit .

Can't belive its 3 years either.... Have just had a look through some of my old pm's from Alison..... and they still make me smile! I just know they are out there diving the kelp with those double figure bass....

just by the tributes on here i know they were realy well thought of so condolances to all who new them , speak my name and i shall not be forgotten

I feel you in the morning
When at first I awake
Your thought is with me
With each decision I make

You'd been around forever
Since the first breath I took
Now I have to go on alone
But for love, I need not look

Cause by what you bestowed
In our short time together
Will last in my heart
Forever and ever

Although you've left
And now walk above
I'm never alone
I'm wrapped in your love

Enjoy now your long waited reward
Feel peace that your love continues on
What was taught to me, will be taught to mine
Cause you live on in me even after you've gone

well my condolences to all who knew them!! i know its always so sad to lose friends that you were close to, and its definitely always a reminder that even though most DB'ers will never meet in person, they are definitely real people and real friendships here.

on that note, i appreciate having you all here, and you having me here friends!

I went back looking for the photo of the diver 'heading for the Light' that was posted after the tragedy and couldn't find it. If anyone has a copy, I'd love to get it. It was the most fitting memorial (outside of our hearts and memories) that could have been made to them.

Alison, Colin, I know that you can hear us. Rest in Peace.
