Hello,
That’s 3 years I read, now and then, Deeper Blue ;
I find interesting informations about apnea and spearfishing.
I like the quality of the discussions here : facts, smart and intelligent people and advice (true ; I’m not jocking).

I am an old spearo ; I leave in the suburbs of Paris (France), and practice apnea in swimming pool all year long for many years
19 years ago, the 31th of july, I first reached 100m in dynamic apnea with fins ;
and from then, still perform 100m underwater (never got any black out nor samba). :vangry

Spearfishing, I started in South East Asia in the sixties
(in the bay of Kompong Som, in the gulf of Siam),
after a break in the seventies, I discovered spearfishing again, in the Mediterranean shore of Marocco;
from that time, I use to go spearfishing during almost all my vacations …

I’ve done spearfishing competitions in Britttany and Normandy (Atlantic border of France) :
Without being a champion spearoo :martial I actually participated in order to meet other spearos,
improve my technique, and get top condition for my speero vacation expeditions.

Now, I mainly go for fishing expeditions in South-East Asia, looking for the Talang Queen Fish and the Red Snapper .

Last year, more than 40 years later, I came back to the place I first started spearfishing.
The place did not change very much …
I was like a pilgrin coming back, after so many years ! :blackeye

Favorite fish :
Aside the the bass and pollacks (Atlantic), the groupers of the Med sea, my favorite are :
The Blue Fish (Atlantic and Azores), the white grouper (Badeche) in Med,
The Red Snapper and the Talang Queen Fish in Indian Ocean,
and above all, the King Macquerell and the Coral Trout.

My favorite weapon is the monofin : I use it for spearfishing for 17 years now,
It’s not sure that I get more fish with a monofin …:head
But for me, it’s a kind of art … :inlove

Cheers
