my name is Carlos and I've been in contact with this community for a long time but only untill now I decide to become an active member....I love the Ocean in general and I've been scuba diving since I was 9 but then I discovered Freediving at the age of 10 plus saw the Luc Besson's movie THE BIG BLUE (who hasn't aroun here? :D).

Had a club with some close friends and won a national championship, also learned a few good tecniques from national champ as well as other fellow Freedivers across Colombia....I live in a beautiful small town next to the caribbean coast of Colombia named Santa Marta.....hope to find enthusiasts of all kind around here, my interests are competitive freediving, spearfishing, constant ballast and no limits (built a sled that has proveed efficient so far) but at the end anything related to the big blue....seeya soon!

muy bienvenido Carlos!

You're lucky to live in such a beautiful and tropical location.

And welcome to DB! ;)

Carlos,

Beautiful country and people. My wife spent a year as an exchange student in Cucuta. After we got married we took two trips to see the country. The second one was mostly spent in or near Santa Marta.

I'd love to hear about the diving. I wasn't much of a water guy at the time but I do remember the most beautiful tropical beach I've ever seen a bit to the east of there in Tayrona National Park.

ey there!

well I have to say I can't complain about the diving spaces here...Colombia has a lot of beautiful places and yet I don't change Santa Marta for any other....the diving is also cheap since you dont necessary need to take a boat for most Freediving places.......regards!!!
