Just a hello from Brazil. Keep the stories flowing. Seas off my home town as I write this are 10 ft./3m high. :vangry

Ahhhh that's a cake walk. :duh Just stay outside the breakers and you'll be fine. :) Or just stay under water more than your on the surface and you won't get beat around as much. :D

But until it clears up I feel your pain. The waves are about the same here and the vis is down to 1-2 feet. So no luck in my neck of the woods either. At least when it clears up down there you have SOME visibility from what I hear. So just think it could be worse. After all near where I live I have never dove in visibility over 5 feet. But then again I have only been diving for 4 years now, so what do I know maybe we have just has a LONG dirty streak. SO maybe someday we will get a charge of clear water up from the south. :hmm
 
Not quite. Surf so high means no spearfishing here. We dive off islands with steep depth gradient (it gets deep close to the island's coastline). Unless one has a death wish (his/her own), better go play billiards and cards.
