Slingshaft, Cougerbait, and Chef Al went to Port Aransas 18,19,20 August. Went out day one on sloop Nema to the North Jetty on St. Jo Island. Kerry (Slingshaft) and Kevin (Cougarbait) hit the water with Al as lifeguard. Viz was moderate but Kevin got his first fish--a nice mullet. Kerry brought in a couple of mullet, a sheepshead and a mangrove snapper--true to his jetty rat adolescence. rofl Came back under sail all the way to the dock! :t
Day two was spent running around, draining 12 gallons of fuel from buddy's Grady White (floating bomb) and getting into the shop. That night Chef Al foil packed the fish on the grill, made dirty rice, and a huge shrimp-corn-potato boil. Ate til we were as full as ticks. :friday
Day chased the viz out to about 4 miles on Nema but was better at the jetty. All got in (friend was on watch). Kerry again got a nice sheepshead and a 6 lb mangrove snapper :thankyou; Al bent the spear tip on the granite :crutch; and Kevin got wet & tired :wave. All in all a good trip and now we're planning the next one for ther late fall with cooler water and better viz.
