Hi there,

I have a 2009 Seatec Gabbiano 90, and need to replace the bands, which are 20mm. I'd prefer to switch to 16/18mm rubbers as I don't feel I need the power of the 20's for the extra effort required loading them!

I understand from reading older posts that I probably need to replace the head and wishbone, as these may have a 20mm specific thread, unlike most other manufacturers.

Before going ahead and ordering these bits, I just wanted to confirm I need them. The threads themselves on the bands I have measure 16mm in diameter; is this larger than the threads of normal 16mm rubbers?

Any help much appreciated.
Matt

Lol, quite! :t I should have said (to avoid mocking!), I'm not replacing the bands because of the difficulty loading per se; they are getting pretty worn too!

lol, sorry, was drunk when i posted and didnt read the whole post... :crutch

im not familiar with the gabbiano, but i think its screw in rubbers only right? you can buy some adapters that allow you to tie your own bands. this means you can also put spectra/dyneema wishbones in to save your fingers.

you say your guns a 90, so i think 16mm is sufficient. just make sure you dont cut them too short.

btw, the threads your refering to are universal i think

If the screws are 16mm, get a Seatec Stinger, or any Omer bands or H. Dessault: they'll al fit in.

If the screws are 20mm, either you find new bands with 20mm screws (rare to find these days) or you get a 16mm fitting for your muzzle.

BTW, I'm looking to buy for myself a used Gabbiano 90 with old handle.........................

No worries johnnyp, you can't htfu too much! I'll keep those adapters in mind as dyneema wishbones sound like a good idea.

Thanks for the reply Spaghetti, I double checked and the screws/threads are definitely 16mm, so I don't need a new fitting; very handy as getting hold of one looked a bit fiddly.

I'm afraid i'm very happy with my Gabby at the mo, it's a great gun. I'll let you know if I change it any time soon!
