Looks good, strongly reminiscent of lord of the rings. Probably because of Sean Bean. Wishing I had TV now.

Greg.

i am practically holding my breath, and NO its not on in the states yet. i am also a fan of the genre. i used to read all of that stuff when i was younger. now my short attention span makes me watch the movies only. i actually have a tattoo of a CHAOS symbol on my right shoulder. if you are a big fan of fantasy, mart, lets see if you know what series it is from? (or anyone else)(books, not movies) i will give you a hint: the author is english, and the main hero is an albino. my favorite books of all time. i just realized why you guys post so much on here= i am stuck in the cold wether right now and here i am typing away. i cant wait to get back down south, then i will go back to barely reading this stuff again.

Cheers Fox, ive been looking for some books to get stuck into for some time. These look perfect for after ive finished uni this year. Just have to wait for my next student loan to come in haha.

Not sure Jason - something by Michael John Moorcock?

correct.i knew you must have read the elric saga. if you are a fan of the genre. have you ever read the riverworld series by phillip jose farmer? good stuff! they made a cartoon loosly based on elric in the mid 90's. called the pirates of dark water. it was cool but they threw some silly sort of stuff in it for kids, which kindof ruined it for me. it was pretty cool though in some ways, for instance they would be sailing and they would spot "dark water" which would try to swallow them up . the swords that ate souls was my fav. thing in the books , but they didnt include that (probably not for kids i guess)

Not read Riverworld series at all but I will if you say it is good.
Really easy now with Kindles & Ipads to just buy any book in seconds!
Changing the theme have you ever read Eye of the tiger by Wilbur Smith?
Funny thing is I am not really a fan of WS but that book is easily in my top 10.
(big guns, fast boats & big fish)

no i havent read it , but i will check it out. you definately should check out riverworld series. really imaginative. everyone who has ever lived is resurrected on a planet by unknown beings, and the story surrounds samuel clemens and explorer richard burton, they build a steam powered riverboat and navigate a huge river, trying to find the source, they encounter everything from nazis trying to make the 4th reich to vikings on longboats to cro magnons. plus some future beings, and noone knows why they are there. very very good. people seem to have been given a second chance, but also fall right back into old habits- drugs- enslavement- war- all of it. crazy books! very well written. i have been reading hell divers rodeo lately. picked it up on amazon for 5$

Riverworld series is one of my favorite SF books, if you like SF Mart, it's a must. I'm also an SF fan, but haven't read much lately, last favorites was the Hyperion series.

So the state side get to see the first episode tonight only 48 hours for us Brits!

of riverworld? if so ,you will enjoy.
on the subject of game of thrones, parts of it are kinda cool. but some of it is a little cheezy. i like all the knights and the wall, and most of that part. but the horse people and all the weird, british-esque accents, just don't seem right or something. it certainly isn't on the same production level as the lord of the rings. and it is kindof hard not to compare them, at least a little. Some very nice looking women though.

It does look good, the first episode is indeed good.

If youre lucky, you will see me popping up off the coast of Gozo with spear in hand while they were filming :p

There filmed in Gozo? I was freediving there ;) Must have a look out!

I certainly did not see all that sex when I was there.... or did I ;)

Good series so far ;)

Aye, not all of it.... the rocky sandy/sea scenes apparently. Maybe I should try go for an extra, but I think a white sun-shy slim guy wouldnt fit the picture really...

I read the books. So I doubt I will ever watch the series as for me the books are perfect themselves. I just hope GRRM doesn't bite the dust before finishing the series. But looking at the evolution of the time required to write a book and his shape, all I can do is pray :)

Actually I find that having read the books only makes the programs more enjoyable!

Spartacus was pretty good as well Bros ?
