Going South - Yelapa, Mexico - February 2009

Yelapa is South of Puerto Vallarta and I will be there in early February with family and friends. Anyone know any good spots or going to be in the area?

I went down to barra de Navidad just a few weeks ago and that is probably a little more south than where you will be. Its an awesome area. Your best bet will be to hire a pangarero with some experience taking out spearos. There is plenty of fish down there and hte water is nice and warm. Check out Punta Mirra if you can. Its a little closer ot PV but lots of trophy fish are taken from there and they have some world class pangareros.

Thanks, that seems to be the consensus approach. I'm heading down with family, friends and small kids so heading out is not on top of everyone's to do list...

Well if you can swing it I would definitely get out at least once. You will regret it if you dont. The spearing down there is world class!
