Hey guys I am going to San Diego for a couple of days for work next week Thursday & Friday. I will be just down the street from the Naval training center. What things should I do and see while I am there? Everyone says Sea World (duh!) but any of you have any ideas?

I don't think I will have enough time to dive but maybe I can weasel out an extra day.

The San Diego zoo in Baldwin Park is pretty cool. Naval training center? near the City, or camp Pendleton in Oceanside? if oceanside, the wild animal park is a fun one too. Scripts Aquarium (Point Loma) is really nice, especially if you like the ocean.

And there is always Tiajuana:blackeye... if your looking for trouble that is.

Sea World is cool and all but it can be a ZOO (no pun intended:thankyou)
If you like night life there are numerous bars in the "gas lamp" district of the city. Yard House was pretty fun but not too cheap.

In North County there is an awesome bar called the Bounty in Solana Beach (right next to the train station) which has some awesome live music. Check with them to see who is playing. I saw Israel Vibration, Steel Pulse, and a bunch more great bands there. A great venue and a reasonable price.

IF you get the chance go to Board and Brew in Del Mar (just north of La Jolla) for lunch, best sandwiches on earth!

Sorry Id better stop now, I could go on for ever... I kinda miss San Diego (spanish for a whales vagina..movie pun... 'intended':blackeye)

wow there is a lot to do around there. I will be at the naval center by the airport.

Night life sounds cool too! I will start to check into those spots, thanks for the heads up.

Oh and San Diego doesn't really mean Whale Snatch does it?
Hahahaha

Tell me you have seen Anchor Man. If not you better go see it! some funny stuff!

ANd no, its named after St. Diego a famous explorer or something.

I just remembered, If your near the airport (in the City) just north of the city, no more than a couple miles, is a place called Old Town. This is a pretty cool place with mexican cantinas, bars, and great margaritas! Check it out if you dont want to venture too far from the city but wanna do something different. You can take the trolly from the city to Old Town for a couple of bucks. Good times:friday

You should check out Coronado too, pretty cool place.
