"What Am I Doink Here?"
I putter around with scuba diving (teaching, exploring, discovering and relaxing). Freediving - my wife and I consume a lot of fish. Trying to eliminate invasive and detrimental species from Utah waters. Looking for constructive ways to dispose of unwanted catch. (food for needy - anything viable.) Organize a few events "Goal in 2009 is to remove at least two ton of Burbot from Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Utah" HELPERS are encouraged to join us. Want to - take at least one Pelagic over a hundred lbs.

Welcome from Texas! Fat is relative when you're underwater (I should know). Can you eat Burbot?

Eating Burbot ????

Burbot are termed as Poor Mans Lobster!

Now I haven’t eaten a lot of Lobster, But, I sure like Burbot.

I hope I can put a couple/three hundred divers in Flaming Gorge this year so we can dispel the myths and take turns getting Fat & Sassy devouring them buggers.

Beginning 1/1/2009
we can legally spear Burbot underwater 24/7/365 with the aid of illumination (underwater lighting). That ruling is with the blessings of the Utah State Game and Fish Department.

That sounds awesome- your lakes don't freeze up in the winter? I want to shoot some burbot.

Generally we don't freeze over until Febrrrrary !!

So we are planning after dark spearing with BBQ Burbot with accompaniments hot/warm beverages and lots of other food.

Wetsuit divers will have warm water fill-ups before and after their dives.

Imagine warm/fresh/water in your wetsuit before diving.

Your website- was one of the 1st ones I've ever seen on spearfishing- when I was first getting into the sport. You guys look like you're have a great time out there.

Burbot is great eating - I shoot them all the time up here. Oh and welcome sir!
