Lots to learn and am enjoying the excitement of becoming a skilled underwater observer/photographer.

Hi Chet, Welcome to DB.

You are right down the road from me. A small group of us train at Arlington County Park pool, usually Wednesdays and Mondays, 4 pm. I'm usually there one or two other days in the pm. Come join us.

Welcome to Deeper Blue and we’re looking forward to seeing the underwater photography when you’ve taken it.
Enjoy the forums:)

<snip> Come join us.

Many thanks for the invitation.

I'm perhaps barely a novice, and still settling on more appropriate gear choices for freedivers. I have a basic setup though, and am anxious to get out there again.

I could make next Wednesday @ 4pm. What should I bring; what training do you do?

--Bob

Novices are welcome, see you Wednesday. Join us often and you won't be a novice long. One of the guys who will be there was a novice couple of years ago. Now he's deeper than 120 and almost up to 4 minutes dive time. Blew past me a while ago.

Bring mask, fins, and snorkel, a light wetsuit and a weight belt. The pool is heated, but it gets cold after 45 minutes or so. If you have a heart monitor, that's a handy tool. If you need directions or gear, let me know. Training depends on what you need or want to do. We are flexible.

I'm going to pick up a weight belt. I've seen the mesh belts with shot weights and I've read stretch belts are best for freediving. Got a recommendation?

--Bob

Don't buy anything yet, especially not a shot belt. Come see what we are using and how its used. I have a spare belt for you. How much wetsuit are you bringing so I know how much weight to bring? What is your shoe size?

This is all details, why don't you pm me back.

Connor
