Finally received my prototypes...
Just have to make some tweaks in the 3D model and have the final version made in SS and plastic.

I had a mount but wanted something that had the least amount of parts as possible (just one in this case), had a slimmer profile and kept the camera in a position where it would interfere the least with loading and aiming while giving a more POV perspective. Also wanted to be able to mount/release the camera quickly...

Looks good! :)
is there any reason why there is a cut-out in the centre? hard to tell from the pics but might be a bit weak with just the 2 thin sections?
dont mean to be critical - it looks cool :)

Thanks, feedback is welcome!
yes, in that material it is weak... this prototype was made to test the dimension and to see how it worked.... the final version is going to be made in metal. I'll also make a thicker version in plastic but still with the cut-out. These are 3D printed so can't go crazy on the volume :)

New version arrived today... testing it tomorrow. There was an issue with the metal version and it was postponed but I'm really happy with the plastic that I might not go for metal after all.

Looks good. Where did u get that mount from? I mount my gopro3 black to my mask but Id like to be able to have that sliding mount and somehow attach it to my mask. Screwing the cam on my mask is a pain since I cant remove it underwater coz its a hassle. Any ideas?

Hi, I modeled it in 3D and then 3D printed it...

You could bolt a standard mount to the mask (like the tripod mount) and then using the J-hook (to allow the correct alignment, since the mount would be vertically) would probably work... let us know

First testing day... My first point nose grouper (Mycteroperca fusca)
Unfortunately, there's no footage as the camera battery was long gone... more then 6h session

This is V3 of the mount for C4 spearguns and Gopro quick release
Already sent to print... should arrive in a week.
Much more reinforced; screws will be sunk in; more the double the material used. Mass ~15g and a little positive with a density of ~0.93g/cm^3 (mount alone floats).

If you dont mind me asking... would you design something like that but to be mounted on a mask, closely as possible to the lens? Id pay you through paypal for your work. I could give you my email so I can explain a little better what I need.

Awesome job mate.

Why not? let's see what can be done. I'll PM my email.

New mount arrived and it's solid, really solid! I think this is the final version...
You can compare in the pics with the previous... it used more then double the material since it's much more reinforced.

I tried your sliding mask mount today. It is awesome!

I have always used a mask mount rather than the gun mount and never had any problems. The only problem I had before was if I wanted to remove the gopro (to pose for a pic with a fish) I had to unscrew the mount which was a bitch because I always tightened the screw tight. So I gave up and ended up taking another mask with me and removed the mask entirely and wear the other mask to take a pic. Now, it is easy and fast to do and im incredibly happy with it!

Pics below show me and the mount is visibile for all to see. I just used a permanent marker to colour it black, I dont recommend using paint, just do what I did!

Thanks dude! 10/10
