Many thanks for the vids-awesome shots. I'll being taking some (maybe) in a week off of Texas & definitely in 2 weeks at Panama City Florida. Will post. Hope I can do as good an editing job as you did. Two quick questions:

1) How was battery usage? What type batteries used?
2) Where is camera mounted - gun or wrist?

Regards, Al

The bad thing is that you need to reply the battery every trip to make sure that you are in the safe side.

Also make sure to use a guality memory card each scan disk

The camera were mounted on the gun on the first video and on the writ on the 2nd one

good luck dude

Thanks for the info. I have access to lots of free AAA batteries that are discarded at work. Think I'll stock up on those. Already got a good card for the expanded memory. I'll let you know how it works out - Think I'm gooing to use wrist first.

my hero3 runs out of power in bout 10 mins when filming which really suks when u get sum awsome footage and it has stopd filming because the battery is nearly dead, i only use AAA batteries i dont know if it is just the batteries that are lacking power or if my camera is sucking the power out of them, the manual reccomends using a lithium battery does anyone know if these improve this cameras power and battery life performance cause if not i am really considering getting something of much higher quality, ps i cant really change batteries when it dies beacause im 1-2 km offshore so thats mostly a no go. If anyone knows of any good cameras mainly for underwater video capture the info would be greatly appreicated

Just found this on a reviews site:

On a side note, normal batteries don't last too good in this camera, however, those fancy energizer lithium ones last forever in it. I highly recommend spending the extra money on the better batteries, as it will save you money in the long run, it just eats regular ones, but these lithium ones are going strong for well over three times the length of time the normal batteries were in for.

yeah hopefully i can purchase sum around here b4 ordering from the net, i have very high doubts though, have u finished downloading the bad company demo yet???

my friend ihab has this camera, its a great camera for mounting on a gun sooooo small and light and takes really good footage..i think his only comlaint was that you need a lot of memory cards or something...

Got the batteries (lithium) and they'll be in use this week. Hopefully my buddy can teach me (read bassackwards) how to load up pics & vids so's I can post! Chef Al :head

i got one too, sorted with mem card and batteries, its real easy to view on tv and upload to your computer/youtube etc...

i dont know if the 3M pads will be enough for sticking to a speargun or do you need further marine type glue to ensure it keeps on the gun ???

This camera is UNBEATABLE for the price. The only spearfishing videos of me online were taken with that camera. However there are a couple minor complaints. The way its mounted is not really the nicest for filming, the batteries die out really fast, and sometimes because there is no lcd screen, its really hard to tell what the heck you are doing. If you are still recording, or if you are out of memory. Good luck with the camera.

ok everyone so heres the new wrap on this cam, today i brought 4 paks of AAA lithium batteries and i gotta say it has improved the life of the camera by 110%, i highly recomend everyone that has this cam to get energizer lithium batteries, me and my buddie filmed for ages today and it still has full batterie power left over which is alot better compared to using normal/alkaline batteries wich run out within ten minutes of filming. The only bad thing is that it was murky as hell today because of stormy wether previously being on the prow but the pic quality was still pretty nice when we managed to hit sum clear patches of water - nice meaning good quality for a camera as cheap as this one. As for mounting to spearguns you can purchase mounting kits for it at the official website Digital Hero Camera Home just scroll down and take a look at the Ride Hero accessorie i think it may fit alot of pneumatics if thats what you use. also the head mounts i wouldnt reccomend, i find it really annoying and when spearfishing in shallows it likes to pop in an out of the surface of the water wich makes the footage look quite Shite!

there are no pics of the ride pro i cant tell??

yeah i couldnt either it says it ranges from 0.75'' - 1.4'' im not great with mesurements but i think that it might possibly fit around the tube barrell of a pneumatic

i used electrical tape today and i worked great didnt move an inch and can just use the tilting feature to get the right angle

First try at St. Andrews Jetties Park confirmed to use lithium batteries! Used decent AAA regulars & died muy pronto.:head :naughtyWill shoot tomorrow w/ liths & will report. Chef Al rofl

Okay, you actually have to change the batteries AND remember to put camera in dive bag! No shots of the E.E. Simpson wreck but had a great time. Caight lots of spade fish for fun (& eats), dove the wreck w/ 15-20 viz, saw nice nurse shark several small groupers & a 100 lb Goliath! Shot two real large spades & had a blast. Next try on the cam will be out of Port Aransas later this summer. Chef Al
