The link below has a great presentation by a doctor who explains in graphic detail (with actual video footage) the ear, the e-tubes and the various methods of equalization. Eventhough he does not go into great detail about velum (hands free equalizing) you will get to see exactly what the anatomy does. Click on the "The diver's ear under pressure" streaming video.
