Ok, I dont know where or who to ask, so here goes.

On my post screen is a green button (top right), that when the mouse is waved over it reads "shudderbug is on a distinguished road".

What does that mean?

The green button on the right is reputation. When people approve of your posts, more green buttons eventually appear and your reputation goes up. For fine examples of reputation, see users island sands, icarus pacific, or DeepThought.
Welcome to DB. :)

After about 13, the title of your reputation stops growing but you still can accumulate rep points. The more you have, the more you can give. When some of the big guns start either agreeing with you or approving of something you did/said, those things really add up. I remember the first time I actually shot a fish . . .

It seems like the 'legions of leprechauns' is as high as you can get :D. I've only achieved the quivering mountain of reputation, so I've got a ways to go.

Sometimes it says "So-and-So will become famous enough soon"
i checked out Fred Buyle's rep once, and it said that rofl

Hi just on the above is it possible to give it back ( and if so how do you) I thought it was finished with till I saw i had got some and then went into my profile and saw who had given me some and I never even said thanks. So thanks lads and lassies who gave and sorry for not thanking ye sooner but i didn,t realise. Thought it kinda just happened.
Cheers

If you want to return reputation, you find a post by the intended person, click on the scale in the upper right of the dialogue box, and follow the directions :). Just like giving normal reputation. There will be a space to write something, so if you want, you can say "thanks", etc.
