greeting from jakarta

hey all, i'm new to deeper blue, and to spearfishing, living in jakarta at the moment. i have done a bit of fishing in east timor, with a locally made speargun and after a few weeks i was hooked. i'm picking up a gun from andre in bali and will hopefully be able to take some trips around java soon.
i'm gonna search through this forum and suck up all the information and advice you folks have to offer. i'm sure it'll be a great resource for a newbie like me.

Hey Salibandy,
So where near Singapore do you fish? I've been told there's not much right around Jakarta but I'm going to try to find some spots around Ujung Kulon. I know a lot of people head to Bali but I can't believe there's not thousands of spots around Java and the Malay penninsula.

Here? Nowhere. Vis is too horrible to see anything. Spearing in Malaysia is illegal, just so you know.
