Hello community! I'm finally starting a freediving course next month, that I've been wanting to do for years. So - yes, very excited. Got most of my gear expect a wetsuit. Having to do a bit of research and will have to order a suit. The only cold water brand of wetsuit available up here to buy and try on is Yazback. Which I'm sure is amazing and warm. But I'm just not one to wear camo and look like I'm hunting underwater. I just want a black wetsuit. So at the moment I'm thinking of ordering the Fourth Element RF2. Which unfortunately isn't available in 7 mm. But I think I'll start there and then when I'm ready to do glacier diving and under ice diving I'll look into another suit that is 7 mm. But I am seeing now that there are vest you can buy for more warmth. So I guess in that case the thinner suit would be okay so long as it's big enough to accommodate a vest? Hmmmm, so many things to learn and consider. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of a free diving community up here. But I've only begun looking,

Hi cinndesigner

Welcome on the forum

What the water temperature where you will dive ?

I see back wetsuit 7,5 mm https://yazbeck.com/shop/yazbeck-carbone-wetsuits/
Don’t forget gloves and socks

Less expensive Cressy 7mm https://www.divinglocker.ca/product-category/freediving-wetsuits/
thanks dcvf! Yes, Yazbeck has black - but not for women. I bet they could make one, hmmm? I found a cheep 7 mm that i'm gonna buy just for the course (probably won't be very comfortable) and then invest in a custom made wetsuit. I was thinking Polosub. Rather than spend a lot of money on something that's "okay", I'd rather pay a little more for something "awesome." Sounds like average ocean temps are 52F. And ice diving 32F. Brrr.

If you plan to get a custom suit, DON'T go cheap. Its been a while since I ordered a suit, but Elios has always had the reputation of making superior custom suits. I think mine was slightly more expensive than the competition, but fit and warmth is superb and it has lasted extremely well. Unless they have changed a lot, their measurement process will make you crazy, but it comes out just right in the end.

Thanks! I’ll look into them!
