Also wanted to go up that way. Red an article in HSD and now even more so... The bloke said the water is 45 F so not too bad.
 
The temp varies with the when and where. I did a drysuit class in Kachemak Bay (South Central) in March, and the temps were around 33F. Brrr.

I live in Fairbanks (middle of the state), so there are only lakes up here. I've never done freshwater diving anyway.
