Hey everyone,

My name is Ted Harty and I'm a Performance Freediving Instructor. I've meet many of you folks at various PFI classes.

I'm now starting to do a lot more spearfishing here in Fort Lauderdale and have been attending some of the various spearfishing clubs here in Fort Lauderdale/Miami area.

I currently help PFI teach classes at all levels across the US, and I also run PFI classes independently through my own company Immersion Freediving.

Looking forward to increasing my spearfishing knowledge from the spero's on the board.

Glad you are finding it useful - I bet you're surprised it's not just a big forum discussing drinking tactics for DEMA :)

Will definitely drop you a line next time in in Lauderdale...

Ted, welcome to DB, you will like it here and there is a lot to learn. If you have not yet explored exhale (FRC) diving, there are several recent threads that go into both theory and practical detail and some old Seb Murat posts that go deep into theory.

I took the PFI intermediate course in about 2004, best $ I ever spent. There is another DBer alive today because of the safety practices that Kirk taught and actually convinced me to use.

Connor,

That is hands down my favorite response from people that have taken the PFI course!

I know I can say I saved a number of people that wouldn't be here had I not gotten the training of PFI early on.

Every time I'm in front of the class and telling what not to do, I have MANY stories of what I used to do before I knew better. I have some good first hand experience of what not to do!

Safe diving!

Welcome sir.
And I guess I should have asked Connor before, but I also am interested in the diving near Ft Lauderdale.... is there anything local there worth seeing?
