Hello.
I have been SCUBA/Spearing for a few years now when we go out fishing, it has been fun but I want to take it to the next level. A few weeks ago we went on a fishing trip on a reef in 35ft of water in the Gulf of Mexico. We caught a few then the fish quit biting, but I could see them swimming through the crystal clear water.....
So I decided to jump in and see what I could do without a tank, and to my surprise I was able to make it to the bottom and pop a couple of fish (pic below). Fast forward two weeks and i have been working on a static apnea table at work and I really want to get into freediving.
In a few weeks of static training my PB has gone from 1:15 to 2:10.
My major problem is being able to fight the urge to breathe, when it starts it is just a downward spiral for about 30sec then Im done. Never had a contraction either. Any tips on fighting through? Is it just toughness?
There is some great info on this board thank you all!
