Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone and that I look forward to participating in many discussions.

I've recently dusted off my dive gear, had it serviced, stepped up to the new age of computers (they didn't exist when I was certified ), and have convinced all the guys that I fish with to get certified so if in the event we cant convince them to bite the circle hook we can convince them to bite the very long, straight, sharp, fast moving one.rofl

I've been in Florida for over 30 years, I've been boating-diving off and on for over 23 years, and have spent a tremendous amount of time (and money) fishing most of our coastal waters. I'm also an avid boater; mostly Tampa bay (southern section) and gulf waters out 20-30 miles.

A few years back I started spearfishing; very addicting. Since I have a small wood shop and have the ability to create many things out of wood I decided to start the process of making my own spear gun.

I'm going to start reading the numerous threads to get the 'where to buy' questions on the accessories but if anyone has 'the site' or a proven manufacturer for trigger mechs, etc. I'd appreciate the help.

Thank you in advance,

Bill

Welcome Bill. There are several talented spear gun builders (and boat builders) active on the forum and it's always exciting to see the process and end result. SettingSteel, Foxfish, OldManDave, Portinfer, JamesT, HEDS to name just a few (as well as the proprieters of some of prestige brands).

Ray Odor is in your area, sells gear, and would be a great source of info.
