Grouper Pics

Since all you guys seem to post is pics of dead fish, I'd figure I'll post a few "before" shots of some groupers I ran into the other day. Enjoy the pics.

Those are some real nice pics. This is a perfect example of how big red grouper can look very similar to Nassaus. Look for the spot on top of the stem of the tail: No spot. Red. Legal fish. Thanks for sharing the pics.

My thought exactly. I was diving a nice patch when I saw a big turtle that I wanted to film. I made the dive, and after finishing filming the turtle I turned around and noticed the grouper following me. I thought Wow, nice Nassau. I dove down again to film it, and while filming I noticed the lack of the black spot on the tail. I kept my cool, and continued to capture him on film. On the next dive I put a piece of steel in his head, I had shot Blacks and Gags before, but I had never shot a red grouper before, and this one was big and fat, weighing in at 12. Not bad for my first.
