I'm going to Guadeloupe on business next week and I'm thinking of bringing a pole spear for a little freedive spearfishing off the shore... anyone know of a good spot?

Nevermind about the pole spear- I just found out spearfishing is banned there.

Still would like to know a good deep reefy spot right off the shore if anyone knows.

I'm going in Feb/March 2009. Any freedivers/spearos to train with?

Actually it'll be 18th Feb to 2 March. Anyone?

Hi
RE my thread, it's a shame you can't get out there in July. My research indicates that spear fishing IS allowed out there, just not on the Costaeau reserve. My wife is from Guadeloupe and all her brothers are Spearos. So definitely fine to spear. Plus there is a school out there also. This info is late for you, but hopefully will help anyone else who is interested.
