Thanks for the link tecdave. The white bream are more widespread than ever as having caught two last year they were caught in two different places and in places that have not been mentioned in any reports .

Changing the subject , just spent two nights at the whitehouse in herm courtesy of the offer that was in the press. The chef and his team are very talented. I strongly recommend it for any batteries that need recharging.

I was rod fishing up the Humps today, caught a nice little plaice of about 1.1/2lb.
Also caught a small bass of about 1lb & about 6 dogfish!

Hi,

Before the weather broke, had two days diving with some friends from England. Vis good,mixed bag of pollack,plaice,sole and bass. Nice to see the bass are starting to show. The magic 16c barrier should see a significant improvement. Hope it is going well in Guern.

I went in on Monday, a 2mt tide so I decided to go for a bass but ended up with a single 2lb plaice!
What Made it even more interesting was I found the plaice in 3' of water just as I was swimming in empty handed.

We did a short boat dive yesterday morning,it was fantastic, not for the catch but for what was seen, loads of bass! two of them well into double figures! A combination of bad luck and poor performance meant the biggies got clean away.....but there is always next time! Going again today , north coast will be sheltered from the strong southerlies.We are trying a venue that I don't usually dive...so who knows what will turn up. How is it going in Guernsey?

A quiet dinner party at home with another couple, Seafood salad followed by Guineafowl casserole, rhubarb fool and local cheese, bottle count 6 including 2 champagne! :friday

Braved the wind! Actually really sheltered and vis was excellent (up to 25ft). I saw a couple of decent bass (one about 8lb) but failed to get in a position to take the shot.......again! Fortunately my mate saved the day by bagging a couple of at about 2. 1/2 lb.I did see a load of pollack up to about 3lb but ignored them in anticipation of a big bass...mistake!.Also had a good look for flats,particularly Turbot...failed! A great dive though, and more exciting to try different areas, have a few more I will dive this summer. C ya
