Yello!

Hi my name is Tom AKA Anners, Grew up in the lovely little isle of Guernsey, lived there for 20 years and yet to dive it. Currently living in Koh Tao Thailand, diving and working as a DM. Taking a videography course and getting more serious about my UW photography. I'm heading back to Guernsey in the summer and plan to dive a lot. I have a couple of friends on here who spearfish around guernsey and would love to get involved with island diving.

Loving life underwater.

Happy diving to you all,

Tom

Welcome Tom. Same first and surname as Magpie. Good job we use AKA's .

Amazing pic's on your site. Definitely not taken in Guernsey.

Keep in touch and see you in the summer.

Good spot on the name OMD, in fact we were at school together!

Hello Anners, this is TJ. Be good to see you in the water this summer.

Alright TJ? Bit of a blast from the past there mate... It's a small world (wide web).

Hows life treating you?

What's the diving likely to be like in august? I know it is going to be a different world from out here in thailand but I'm really looking forward to exploring Guernsey underwater.

See you in the summer.

TD/Anners.

Hi Anners - met you a few times (mates of Pete/Tim Lee) - August diving is ok but Thailand is better I would imagine Have a good one.

Hey Ed how's it going?

Thailand is good but I can't wait to get down on some of Guernseys wrecks...

Do you dive as well or is spearfishing your game?

There is a freediving course out here on Koh Tao with a company called Total Apnea, (the instructor was apparently 4 seconds off the female static apnea world record) they claim to get you near 25m with the beginner course and to 40m with the advanced course........... 40m on one breath......... Thats as deep as my scuba diving training supposedly "allows" me to go... The deepest sites we visit rarely require more than 30m for an awesome dive for crying out loud. I would love to be able to buzz scuba divers at 40m whilst freediving... Saw a 1.5m+ grey reef shark this morning by the way , (only my second of the year, last year every dive at this particular site was shark central, ask Tim) I'd say the diving out here is "passable", although spear fishing is illegal.

Take care down there and see you in the summer.

Anners

Wuddo there Tumaaas!

A spot of spearing and some just freediving - I started off freediving but got a taste for bass 25m is pretty acheivable I reckon - Mozzi (a SA mate) went from diving in Sark down to 10m I think to divng 25m by the end of a week under tuition in Egypt - I think it is tricky over here psycologically cos of the murk and the currents - if you go at low water you'll have to swim a fair way offshore for 25m or be in the peeesing current. If you don't smoke give freediving a go - it's gooood (just need long fins and a low volume mask - see you in the summer mebe... Ed
