Has anyone had a visibility problem on the last 20ft to the bottom out to the southwest of Mobile? It seems every time I go out farther than 20 miles, the last 10-20ft to the bottom is entirely milked out. In closer, the vis is great all the way to the bottom. The further to the east you go, the better the vis. Just wondered if anyone has found good vis in the 100ft plus range so far this year.

Was working in GOM for 18 months a few years ago and that was the norm. It was like a thick fog for the bottom 4-5 meters which was always there. above that we had over 100meter viz and sea life in abundance.....miss it sometimes!!!!

OMEGA3,
Yes, it's like that sometimes but it is usually cleared up by this time of year. Things seem to be reversed, the clearer water shallow and the deeper you go, the crappier the vis as you near the bottom.
