I want to tidy up the deck space in my rib and stop the spearguns getting in the way. At the moment the guns all go on the floor get trodden on and bounce around when we are motoring. Its only a matter of time before someone or the boat sponsons get impaled.

I've got a centre console with only a small amount of space around it (small rib 4.2m)

I'm thinking of mounting them upright against the front of the console. Has anyone done this or got other suggestions about how to tidy things up?

Cheers, James

take pvc pipes about 1foot long 3" diameter. and cut slots1.5 inches wide about 3/4 of the way down ,(one in each)for triggers. mount them to a plastic plate with stainless hose clamps and mount the plate to your center console by the floor, with the pvc tubes in an upright position with the slots facing up. you can slide your guns in the tubes with the handles out the slots. a bungee cord across the tops of the guns will hold them snug if needed. on my buddies boat, we made them so the slots are tapered slightly and it holds the guns firmly with no bungees, check the exact sizes of your guns and get the minimum diameter pipe you can use. cut the slots custom and they will fit loke a glove. next time i go over to his house, i will take some pics

I like my gun racks from Spearfishing Specialities in St. Petersburg, Florida.

They can be installed using aluminum rails used in the Roll Control tank mounting system so that they can be easily removed, and that is what is shown here. Later, I decided I was never removing them anyway, so I might as well make it harder for thieves. I removed the rails and just through-bolted to the fiberglass.

those are really nice. i like that better than the pipes for sure. i just put a down payment on a new boat,(26 ft seavee) and i will be putting in a rack.how much was yours,(if you dont mind i ask)? i could make one out of cutting board for about 50 or 60$ each, but i would rather buy if it isnt much more.

I've had them for something like 7 or 8 years, so I forget what they cost, and the price has probably gone up anyway. I guess the best bet would be to contact Kevin Bruington and ask him.
Spearfishing Specialties Speargun Racks

They are made of Starboard.

I'm going to be seeing Kevin at the Blue Wild Expo in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend. I'll see if he had any price sheets for future reference.

What sort of fish are you shootin' with those guns Bill!

Mostly white sea bass and yellowtail. Here are a few from last summer.

Edit- that third photo of the yellowtail reminds me of something else I should mention. When underway, I wrap bungee cords around the guns to keep them from wobbling in the racks. That photo shows the cord around the barrels, but I usually put it around the bands.

Thats some great fish mate. Shame we dont get anything of the size in England!

love those racks guys - but I just don't have the room for them on my little RIB. I've got to keep thinking about this - will post if I come to a conclusion

perhaps the modified garbage can might work for you, you can secure it to a stern corner and it will be mostly out of the way.

I have seen many pics and DIYs for it, I'll see if I can find some links for you
