guns constantly break line

Some folk do manage to use a bungee shock-absorber with a reel but you'll need to search the forum for details. Seems like it should be unnecessary though, as I would think you can set the reel drag to "give" a little line.

How strange, kevlar line too! I guess around that general area is where the spearline tends to wear the most. 1.6mm line is normal. It might be worth posting an image of breakage area. I wonder if the crimped loop is too short (or too long) and/or catching in the trigger mech. and/or muzzle. Alternatively, perhaps the line is being damaged during crimping or by sharp edges in/around the line hole, or on the wishbone (do you use a metal articulated wishbone with sharp edge by any chance?).

Rigging:
I assume, before you fitted the reel, your spearline was secured to the muzzle end of the gun. When loaded, the line went from the tail of the spear, above and to the side of the spear, along the barrel, out through the muzzle hole (assuming closed muzzle), back along under (or along side) the barrel to the line release and then back to the securing point at the muzzle? A muzzle bungee shock-absorber with a swivel clip might help.

Omer "Line Separator"
Omersub, Italy offer an accessory they call a "line separator": a shaped piece of wire that fits through the rear spearline hole & provides a loop for the spearline to be attached to. Looks like it might be just the thing to fix your problem (could probably make your own with a big paper-clip).

[BTW Good to see Marco Bardi has at last seen the light and is guiding the Med. spearos to use soft, inexpensive Dyneema wishbones - just as the SA spearos have used for decades . Nice line of Omer accessories for Dyneema wishbones - a bit lighter than RobAllen equivalents, e.g. 1.6mm vs. 1.8/1.9mm wishbone cord, for the slimmer European spears. I may get some.]
