H Dessault Foot Pockets Blade Angle
I have been searching for a pair of foot pockets that would fit my feet. Suffice it so say that I tried seven different pair size 46-48 or 12/13 starting with Cressi Gara Modular Foot Pockets (too Narrow), OMER Millenium Foot Pockets (Wide and a little too big but too tight across the arch), Picasso Power Foot Pockets (Big enough but tight across the arch and closed to a V at too sharp and angle towards the heel), Pathos Freedive Spearfishing Footpockets (Too tight across the arch and closes to a V at too sharp an angle towards the heel), MARES Footpockets (Boxy too big and still caught and rubbed the side of my foot in an untenable way), Mako Freedive Spearfishing Competition Foot Pockets. (They were the closest over the others foot size was very close, still rubbed slightly on my metatarsal bone and were tight across the arches)
I had decided that they would have to make do and then tried the old Heat gun on the top to remold the fit to my arch. Well I salute all those who have mastered that art but All I got for my efforts were floppy rubber over stretched. Yes, Yes, I over did it. So finally I saw a pair of H Dessaults on Ebay and said to myself I bet they won’t fit either. All in all I had paid over $100 dollars in return postage looking for fins that fit.
Bottom line is I am going to use the H Dessaults. I am sure there are many who would advise against such folly. Their objections about the stiffness of the rails and the possible power transfer issues from the heel are known to me. The various forums abound with differing opinions as to the fitness of different foot pocket for spearfishing and which blades should be married to each. Numerous experts are afield enamored with their own selections espousing the virtues of their wise selection. They are all right for each to his own said the lady as she kissed the pig.
The point is moot for I have but alas but one poor pair that fits and fit above all the experts agree moves it to the head of the class. So now the storm comes as to what blades will I mismatch them with. Naught but wealth and knowledge separate me from swimming like a dolphin. Would that I could try all the combination of Footpockets and blades that exist save for the fact that I would die of old age before my mission was accomplished.
So the point of my stream of consciences is to seek help in determining what blade angle the Dessaults will accept and be comparable with. These foot pockets do not have the name sporeasub on them if that helps. So what blade do you recommend under $200 dollars. Yes I know handicapped to the point of better to swim barefoot than purchase cheap blades but beggar that I am so I will choose the lesser.
HELP ME WHO’s Blades will prosper in my H Dessaults.
