OK, many readers may know I started out not liking this gun too much, but things are going from bad to worse. After a 20 min swim to my fave spot, one bad shot and on reloading the spear would not stay in. Thr trigger mech. jammed. I dive in clean waters with a rock entry and exit. ie no sand. The gun has seen no more than 10 days use. Lovin' it...:rcard

Any one have a schematic? The metal parts seem hand filed. I have got it working again but a little unsure as to the spring that keeps the spear latch up, how to tension it?

Thanks

I dunno, these triggers are very simple though. I have dis-assembled and re-assembled many times a Viper-Aspic trigger, designed by Hugues Dessault same as your Quatro's, and found it quite intuitive to assemble.
One trick/caution I have adopted with Viper-Aspic for reloading: insert the shaft in its seat while keeping the trigger pulled.
Sequence: 1) pull trigger 2) insert shaft (while trigger is pulled) 3) release trigger 4) check the shaft to be secured in its seat 5) cock the bands et cetera till wash the dishes and clean the grill. :)

thanks spago, never tried that, holding trigger thingy. will try again to love poor gun!

I’ve got a Dessault and I love it!
Like Spaggie has said pull the trigger while inserting the spear and it’ll lock in there as sweet as a nut.:)

Thanks Podge mate, spago too. Problem solved:
- removed entire safety catch and spring (big hole now, but oh well) and threw away
- rounded, emery sanded and polished trigger and sear

Have to say the release is very smoooooth now and crisp.

One extra problem: the spear would not sit flat in the guide. the muzzle groove was a little too high. I deepened the groove there quite a lot, 2 or 3mm, and spear now sits in groove.

I used it at the weekend and really can't complain, fish in freezer ;)
