hand spear triggers

hi guys, i wanted to make a hand spear trigger or at least find out how they work (by grip or whatever?) like the sea hornet one here http://www.seahornet.com/image/Grip-&-Trigger-Handspeargun.jpg
i found something i little more detailed

not entirely sure whether i have craft the sharft and put little grip notchs in it or not?
and has anyone see these manufactured pistol-gripped, trigger activated spears?

i dont think those are triggers rather a sliding handle that allows one to pull back the spear like a bow and arrow
