Well I went out yesterday and it was less than impressive. Boy do I need to work on my breathing!

But when I was washing my gear I couldn't figure out a good way to hang my wetsuit. It get fairly heavy, so the regular hangers aren't very good. Not to mention they seems to stretch the upper shoulder area.

So I decided to make a cheap strong hanger. I took some left over 2" PVC and used a heat gun to bend it to a shape that I could use for a hanger. I made the hook out of a stainless steel rod. Here's what I came up with:

Works great! Something if figured you guys might be interested in? REally easy to make.

The problem I saw with the hangers you can buy is that most were too narrow, and too thin. So that would cause slight stretching in small areas along the traps (shoulder area).

I cut a peice of 2" PVC 32" long. Marked bend points 7" in from the ends, and center. When heating up the PVC focus the heat on the outter side. I found if you heat the entire thing the plastic tends to fold on itself.

If you need more info LMK?

Hmmm it seems that linking to a search result only works for a limited time,
however you can use the search button yourself & look for "storing wetsuits"
Seems like all the threads I've found only talk about storing the suit??
I didn't see any pictures of something better than this hanger??

This hanger is 2" tubing so it is way better than the hanger that they hang the suits in the store. 0% distortion in the shoulder area.

Is there something better out there? Something that we all can make????

If you have a direct link please let me know?

If you want to hang your suit, I dont think there are any better hangers than the one you have.

Do you just use your hanger just to allow the suit to dry then?

In the links provided, I didn't see anything about hanging high-waist pants, except for a reference to installing grommets on the pants, which I didn't understand. What does everybody do with their wetsuit bottoms?

I use the hanger to wash, dry and store my suit. I was told not to fold up the suit because it could cause it to prematurely crack?
I just leave my suit hanging in the garage by my birt bikes. as for the rest of my gear I purchased a huge duffle bag from Amazon.

When all my gear dries I throw everything into this bag so when the urge hits, everything is together.:t

Don't know if these have been suggested before. I hang up my pants with chip clips holding the waist. Grommets at the waist works too. I plan to try clothes pins at the ankles since they work so well with the top. I just started hanging the tops upside down with the beaver tail over a small rod and clothes pins to hold the wrist to the hip. Seems to work great.

Just be careful not to leave the clothes pins on too long they will eventually make permanent marks.

Sorry. They make plastic clips in a dozen sizes that are used to clamp on bags of potato chips and seal them back up. I'm careful to place the clothes pins in places where permanent marks don't care and with nylon outside, you can't even see them. Easier than installing grommets or velcro.
