... and many happy returns, dear Chef Al. :friday

I'll cook some extremely complicated recipe in your honour. And get totally plastered with wines and spirits, of course in your honor! :hungover

PS: what does your nickname, agbiv, mean? Always wondered...

Thanks to all of you! Been a rough time here. F-I-L just lost fight with cancer ect. but is at peace now. We are coping. I am going out for my Second Annual Birthday Freeze Fish on Calaveras Lake (powerplant lake, very warm water, very green & zero viz) to go for big Redfish. If we do well I'll post some pics. Yall are awesome.

And Spago--agbiv means: Albert George Boos IV. God saw to it I had two girls so no Albert V--which would have made him "a fifth of Boos". Go ahead--pronounce it like booze. :girlie

Sorry about your loss. Sometimes it can be a mercy when they are at peace. I feel awkward wishing you a happy belated birthday under the circumstances, so best wishes to you and yours.

Thank for your much appreciated kindness. Heartfelt condolences and those that help us keep going are a blessing. Went out on an already scheduled & promised lake fish. 6 catfish and I brought in a 33"/18 lb and we lost 2! What was cool was to use some of his gear that we had shared on other trips--I knew he was there.

Yes and now I have to figure out how to post from my phone.

Sorry to hear about your bereavement agbiv. Here's wishing you a happy belated birthday none the less.

Was it Wyatt Earp in the movie Tombstone that referred to an impressive name as a "twenty-five dollar handle".

Spaghetti, glad to see you are keeping up the fine Italian tradition of producing beautiful females. :) My son - not so little now, I'm struggling to get used to that - will be traveling to your fair land in February. Bizarrely, it turns out that he is something of a Latin bod (scored 100% in his last 2 Latin tests - quite unusual apparently) and will be visiting Rome with his school at half-term - in search of Latin-speaking Romans I expect :D. Perhaps he picked up on his parents' enthusiasm for Italy and things Italian - fortunately he didn't pick-up our linguistic skills. Unfortunately he doesn't know Italian (yet) though.

My lovely daughter spent a tour assigned to the NATO HQ in Napoli. Naturally we had to go visit. Unfortunately, it was the hottest summer Italy had seen in years! But I managed to consume an incredible quantity of linguine con vongole!

Chef, losing family is never easy, even when it means the end of pain. Condolences from the Left Coast, as well.
